Last Day in the USA

Can you believe this day is here?  It is so hard to believe that today we will be in El Salvador!  These last few weeks have flown by with so much to do and so many details to wrap up.  The saddest part for us is that we were not able to see or spend time with everyone we would have liked too.  Please know it was not our intention but with the demands to get ready and some unexpected obstacles as well, we did not have the time we thought we would.  We started out with 20 bags of luggage packed and ready to go....until Monday when James found out there was an embargo at the end of June restricting all passengers the allowance of only two checked bags, we had our work cut out for us.  That meant repacking and downsizing our luggage to a total of 10 bags!  Praise God we did it!

"I will turn all my mountains into roads"  Isaiah 49:11
God will make our obstacles serve his purposes.

These last weeks have been such a roller coaster of emotion while grieving life here and yet building anticipation for what is to come.  It is hard to feel so many emotions all at one time.  There have been so many tears shed...some overflowing joy and others letting go.  I want to share all the amazing things God did in these past weeks but will have to save that for another post!  Now, as we prepare to leave, we ask for your prayers....

Please pray:
Saying goodbye one last time
Smooth check in, connection flights, customs and travel with kids/luggage
Safety of our family
Patience for each other given the little sleep we have had
Arrive with all our luggage
Transition well in El Salvador

Thank you again for your partnership/friendship along this journey so far. We could not have done it without your support! We stand in awe of the amazing works God has done and look forward to what lies ahead knowing this journey has really just begun!  Words that have stuck with me are ones Pastor spoke as he prayed over us....and we know God will not bring you to or ask of you anything He has not already provided for.  Wow!  What an amazing truth to cling to!

A dear friend gave me these words to a song God is using to minister to my soul in these final hours...

Give me grace to see beyond this moment here,
to believe that there is nothing left to fear
and that You alone are high above it all,
for You, my God, are greater still!

Loving you all the distance!

James, Lisa, Skyler, Raeleigh & Makai
