Walking Daily In the Will of God

Envision Site
We have been here almost 3 days and boy have we been busy!  Our main goal right now is finding a place to live.  We are currently staying at the Envision site in the team house.  It is fine for a short time but after awhile it does not become ideal for a family of five.  These first days of house hunting have been slow as it is a holiday in El Salvador and most people are not available.  We were able to see three so far with one being a possibility.  We are excited for tomorrow hoping with the holiday over, it will bring lots of options for us to see!  Please continue to pray God would give us discernment in choosing and make it very clear the house that is best for our family.  Security is our biggest focus and with that comes expense.  We have a budget to maintain as well so we need to balance them both.

We are all doing well and settling in!  Thank you for your prayers that carry us through each day.  We have come hear exhausted from the journey and the trip but somehow God's grace covers us and in his sufficiency He continues to give us what we need each day.  So far our health is good and no major illnesses.  Thank you Lord!  We are adjusting to the many daily changes in living like having security all the time, not drinking the water (like brushing your teeth in the sink), not flushing any toilet paper down the toilet, daily weather in the mid 90's and night time close to 80 degrees, no hot water for showers...    These are just some of the things we encountered right away and we know there will be more, but through it all we are most thankful to be experiencing them together...as a family...knowing God's best many times includes sacrifice, it includes humility, an uncomfortableness...stretching us beyond ourselves to the place of total surrender...total trust...a place of complete peace beyond what our flesh may tell us.

The journey leading up to our trip has definitely prepared us for this moment.  It is teaching us to live each day fully dependent on God...trusting him in the small stuff as well as the big things.  It is teaching us to make the most of every opportunity God puts before us...time is precious...moments are meaningful.  It teaches us what really matters in life...letting go of the things that entangle us and prevent us from living fully devoted to God.  It is teaching us that the less we cling to the things of this world, the more we cling to the only One who provides perfectly and abundantly what deep down our hearts are yearning for.  It teaches us to stop striving and searching into the future for God's will for our lives but instead to live out God's will daily by doing the next right thing...walk closely with Christ and He will lead you in His perfect will!  Doing God's will today leads to doing God's will tomorrow! (from my daily devo)

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.  Hebrews 10:36

Today we focus on doing the next right thing as God leads us in His perfect will for our lives.  How awesome is He that He takes all our steps including our mistakes and weaves them all into His perfect plan!

Please continue to pray for our safety, our health, and the Lord's strength to brave what each day brings.
